Be bursting with happiness

Warmth, happiness, and love are what we felt at a recent group wedding for 10 worker couples organized by Binh Duong Trade Union. The couples of workers were bursting with happiness. Among the 10 couples whose weddings were held by the Binh Duong Trade Union, many couples have registered their marriage for many years, some have even registered their marriage for 9 years. They had planned to have a wedding several times, but due to challenging economic conditions, the pandemic, and the responsibilities of raising young children, they were unable to find a suitable time to organize it. Despite having 1-2 children together, they still haven't been able to have their wedding ceremony.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, whose wife works at Thong Dung Shoes Company in Thuan An City, said that the couple has been married for 6 years and has 2 children together. However, due to difficult economic circumstances, they haven't been able to have a wedding yet. He expressed gratitude to the trade union for supporting him and his wife, providing them with a completely free and happy day. He also mentioned that they received well-wishes from family and friends, as well as wedding money from the Trade Union”, said Mr. Thao.

I look forward to the continuation of the annual collective wedding ceremony for union members and workers in Binh Duong province. It is my hope that businesses and sponsors will maintain their support and collaboration with the trade union to facilitate the marriage of worker couples having difficult circumstances, fostering joyful families. (Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor)

Meanwhile, groom Truong Anh (hometown of Cao Bang province), a worker of Chi Hung Company (Thuan An City), said: “"My wife and I are very happy because on our wedding day, we received attention from all levels of government and the media, which was wonderful. We promise to work hard and contribute our best to the company and the local community."

Every couple always cherishes having an official wedding ceremony with the participation of family and friends. With 10 worker couples selected for this group wedding, the wedding took place in a very civilized, economical, solemn manner, following traditional customs and being completely free, which is truly a great happiness. We can feel the happiness radiating from the couples' eyes and are confident that this will be a very memorable moment for them.

Noble human values

In Vietnamese culture, the wedding ceremony is a clear symbol of beautiful love. However, not every couple has the opportunity and means to have a wedding, especially workers who are facing difficult circumstances, living far from home, or in rented accommodation. Therefore, the collective wedding ceremony is a thoughtful and noble gesture of care from the Binh Duong Trade Union, reflecting humane values.

At the recent group wedding ceremony, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, congratulated 10 couples whose weddings were solemnly and warmly organized by the union.  According to Ms. Xuong, this is an activity with noble humanitarian meanings. This activity is designed to care for and support union members and workers who are facing challenging circumstances and are unable to have traditional private wedding ceremonies. Its goal is to help union members and workers establish stable family lives, work with peace of mind, save money, and cultivate a new cultural life. Additionally, this activity aims to affirm the supporting and sharing role of trade unions with their members.

The group wedding ceremony for workers promotes the responsibility of employers, agencies, businesses, and society in taking care of and supporting union members and workers. It also aims to strengthen solidarity and express the concern of trade unions, employers, and society for the Vietnamese working class. Additionally, the Vietnamese Trade Union hopes to raise awareness about civilized, economical weddings that honor the beauty of national cultural traditions among union members, workers, and the general population by organizing a collective wedding ceremony.

In order for the group wedding ceremony to occur successfully, the Provincial Labor Federation received attention, direction, and encouragement from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee. Ms. Thai Thu Xuong also expresses gratitude for these valuable sentiments and hopes that the Binh Duong Trade Union will continue to be supported by the Party committees, authorities, and agencies in Binh Duong province for such activities in the future.
