Binh Duong Party Committee and People’s Committee have send charity relief delegates to share with victims in tragic stampede on November 22 in Kratie Province. On December 8, the five-member delegation led by Mr. Tran Duc Thinh (Deputy Director of Internal Department and Chairman of Province’s Friendly Organizations Association) was received by Kratie Province’s leaders who then led them to visit victims and relatives of the dead ones. The delegates have offered VND 10 million directly to them.
Binh Duong Province’s delegates offer VND 200 million to Cambodia-Vietnam Friendly Association.
On behalf of Kratie authority and relatives of dead victims and the victims themselves, Mr. Nou Phoeung – Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Kratie Provincial People’s Committee thanked Binh Duong delegates and sent words to leaders of Binh Duong Province. He also recalled previous relief visit to victims of ferry sinking last October. On the next day of December 9, the delegates continued their trip visiting Phnom Penh where they met up with oversea Vietnamese who were victims of the tragedy and leader of Cambodia-Vietnam Friendly Association at Vietnam Ambassy in Cambodia.
The delegates offered VND 47 million to relative of oversea Vietnamese being dead or injured in the stampede. Mr. Sum Chi, Chairman of Vietnamese Association in Cambodia showed special thanks for the relief gifts which encourage them to overcome difficulties.
On visit to meet representatives of Cambodia-Vietnam Friendly Association, the delegates were informed by Mr. Chap Sotharith, Cambodian Secretariat Chief, about relief tasks. International organizations have supported each victim about USD 12,000. Showing their deepest condolence, the delegates offered VND 200 milion (donation from Binh Duong province’s agencies and authorities) to the victims of the stampede on the bridge connecting Diamond Island. On behalf of the association, Mr. Chap Sotharith thanked leaders of Binh Duong Province for their special caring and sharing. He also wished for more developed friendship and partnership.
By direction of Major General Touch Naroth - Phnom Penh Security Chief, the delegates visited the site of tragedy on Diamond Island where 353 have lost their life and thousand others injured by the stampede.
The delegates returned to Vietnam in the morning of December 12, closing a meaningful visit which embarked good impression on neighbor Cambodian and oversea Vietnamese
