The implementation of electricity saving in offices, administrative agencies, public lighting, and key production customers in the province has brought encouraging results with more attention paid to and implemented by customers, thereby contributing to cost savings and prioritizing electricity for production and business.
Binh Duong Power Company enhances digital transformation and applies technology to efficiently manage and operate the power grid, ensuring electricity supply for production, business, and daily activities in the area
The outspread of power saving manner
Mr. Le Hong Khanh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Power Company (PCBD), said that the electricity sector of Binh Duong province has developed solutions to implement electricity saving, strictly implementing regulations on energy saving, and annual electricity saving plans of the unit in order to achieve the set goals. Specifically, PCBD has disseminated to all officials, employees, and workers the legal regulations on energy saving and efficiency, the documents and directives of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), and the regulations and plans on efficient and economical electricity use of the unit through internal communication channels such as: Website, email, newsletter, display screens/posters in common living areas, rooms, departments, teams, and squads.
The company also emphasizes to all employees and workers to practice energy saving in all areas of operation under the theme of the year: "Practicing saving, preventing waste" and incorporating the content of energy saving into the annual job performance evaluation criteria; rewarding teams that perform well and evaluating, reminding departments and units that do not meet the requirements. At the same time, the company will construct, review, supplement, and issue regulations on electricity saving at the office and workplace; provide advice on establishing an Electricity Saving Inspection Team at the company's office and its affiliated power companies; organize monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the self-use of electricity by the units under the Power Company of the South (EVNSPC) in accordance with regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for High Voltage Power Line Protection and Electricity Saving in the province, said that in general, the implementation of electricity saving in the province has been given attention and guidance by various sectors and levels. The results of electricity saving in the first 6 months of 2024 in the province reached nearly 191.3 million kWh, achieving 56.72% of the annual plan; the electricity saving rate compared to the commercial electricity output is 2.28%.
In the first 6 months of the year, PCBD has played an important role in assisting the province in effectively implementing electricity saving measures through efforts to reduce power losses in distribution, such as: renovating and upgrading power lines, shortening the radius of power supply; replacing non-compliant green fluorescent lights with those that meet safety distances, replacing old and low-quality public transformer stations or those prone to overload; applying advanced technology in electricity measurement such as electronic meters, remote meter reading.
To construct power-saving habits
PCBD has implemented the "Energy Saving as a Habit" contest to promote electricity saving within the scope of EVNSPC through the customer care application of EVNSPC. The contest has attracted 9,462 customer participations. In addition, PCBD receives the electricity usage registration plan for 2024 from state agencies and public sector units within the management area. Quarterly, the company reports on the implementation results and registration work of the electricity usage plan of state agencies and public sector units to the Department of Industry and Trade and the local economic department.
The results of implementing PASDĐ registration in the first 6 months of 2024 show that administrative agencies saved over 4 million kWh of electricity, reaching 4.55% compared to the commercial electricity output of the same period. In addition, PCBD has organized a review and sent notifications to customers using electricity belonging to the group subject to the joint circular No. 111/2009/TTLT/BTC-BCT of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade on "Guidelines for implementing electricity saving in state agencies and public sector units." Customers are requested to register for the electricity usage plan for the year, ensuring a minimum of 5% electricity savings annually; monitor and promptly report to the management unit any cases of improper or wasteful electricity usage for adjustment or rectification.
PCBD also works directly with key customers, public lighting customers, such as street lights, parks, shopping centers; prioritizing implementation in order of production from high to low. So far 61 roads in the province have implemented turning off the decorative lights along the roads. The PCBD also adjusts the time to turn on the lights in the evening 30 minutes later than before, and turns off the public lights 30 minutes earlier in the early morning on many roads in the province.
