Late April 18, provincial Election Committee held its 4th periodic meeting to report on preparations for the upcoming elections of the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2011 and 2016 tenure. Despite difficulties, all preparations for these elections have been implemented well by the province.
Great fluctuation in number of voters
An inspection delegation of provincial Election Committee examined the preparatory election work of 7 districts and towns as well as communal-level administration units. As a result, there were good preparations for the upcoming elections.

As of late April 4, localities in the province basically completed the list of voters for the upcoming elections. There was great fluctuation in number of the voters. The whole province had 1,069,967 voters, including 444,987 with temporary residence as of April 15.
So far, there have been 1.2mln voters’ cards and other relevant documents printed and nearly 1,200 seals made for the local election committees and groups. The preparation of 2,000 ballot boxes for the upcoming elections has been also completed and sent to the local election groups.
List of candidates to be finalized by May 2
According to provincial Election Committee, the list of candidates for the upcoming elections will be finalized and made public by May 2.
It is known that so far, the whole province has set up 3 committees for the 13th NA election with 8 deputies to be nominated; 15 committees for the provincial-level People’s Council election with 63 deputies to be nominated; 64 committees for the district-level People’s Council election with 263 deputies to be nominated and 651 committees for the communal-level People’s Council election with 2,162 deputies to be nominated…
Addressing the meeting, provincial Party Committee Permanent Vice-Secretary cum provincial People’s Council Chairman Vu Minh Sang asked for districts and towns to focus on rechecking the number of voters and sending the timely reports on the number of voters to provincial Election Committee; deliver the election cards for voters; make favorable conditions for workers at businesses to take part in the upcoming elections…
