Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee has just signed Decision No. 183/QD-UBND to issue action plan of bio-diversity until 2015 and vision to 2020. The aims are to ensure ecosystem balance and bio-diversity in integration into modern and industrial socio-economic development in Binh Duong; to maintain bio-diversity by protecting animals and living organism in the delta of Dong Nai and Saigon River; to enhance management capacity to reserve and harmonize natural resources exploit with socio-economic development; to protect and recover natural forest cover; to maintain 57% of agricultural and perennial plants; to enhance awareness of bio-diversity and preservation; to preserve special fruit trees of Binh Duong in Lai Thieu, Thuan An and Bach Dang, Tan Uyen; to preserve bamboo and botanical gardens which are to be extended into national gardens; to preserve river-side plants with touring sites; to protect water areas of Dong Nai and Saigon River; to develop 3 transitional preservation sites at Cau mountain in Dau Tieng, Phu Binh plantation, and Thu Dau Mot Town; to build semi-wild zoo and museum; to build preservation areas in Dau Tieng Lake and Phuoc Hoa irrigation project; to launch and expand recovery programs; to grow wood land; to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc Province, Tay Ninh Province, and Dong Nai Province authorities to carry out the action plan protecting living organism along delta of rivers.

 The major missions are proposed for the action plan as follows:

-           Improvement of legal system, policies and constitutions of bio-diversity protection

-           Land bio-diversity protection and at site and transitional preservation

-           Improvement of water ecosystem protection

-           Preservation in agriculture

-           Reasonable exploitation and development of bio resources

-           Enhancement of management capacity

-           Researches for adaptive measures

-           Efficient development and exploitation of bio-diversity among other missions

So as to ensure effective preservation of bio-diversity, integration of plans is required for the 2011-15 period; therefore, Provincial People’s Committee demands its grassroots to maximize the plans for the sake of industrialization, modernization and urbanization in Binh Duong.
