Di An welcomes lunar new year with new strength

A ceremony to announce the Government’s decision on setting up Di An town and its wards was held in Jan.29, 2011 in attendance of provincial leaders over periods, representatives of the Army Corps No.4, the Ministry of Home Affairs, sectors and departments, Vietnamese heroic mothers, armed forces, businesses, religious dignitaries together public crowds…

Di An town with 7 administrative units

Under the Government’s decision, Di An town has a total natural area of 6,010 ha and 2970,435 people with 7 administrative units, including Di An ward with 1,044 ha and 73,732 people; An Binh ward with 340 ha and 62,109 people; Tan Dong Hiep ward with 1,412 ha and 64,747 people; Dong Hoa ward with 1,025 ha and 46,582 people, Tan Binh ward with 1,036 ha and 15,133 people; Binh An ward with 603 ha and 22,442 people; Binh Thanh ward with 550 ha with 12,690 people. The town’s eastern region is bordered by HCM city’s district 9, western by HCM city’s Thu Duc district, northern by Dong Nai province’s Bien Hoa city and Tan Uyen district.

Determined to build of a civilized, prosperous and beautiful Di An

In terms of urban rejuvenation and infrastructure development, Di An town will further work out such key work as the Dong-Tay road, the resettlement estates of Binh An, Tan Binh…and complete two rejuvenation works of Thong Nhat and Tan Long areas. Di An town will strive to have 80%-90% of inner-town roads upgraded in a synchronous way about lighting system, verdure, water drainage; get more than 90% of inner-town alleys paved with concrete or asphalt; have 60% of population and above in use of internet service…by 2015.

Di An town will also pay more attention to socio-cultural fields, aiming to raising people's intellectual standards and ensure their health.

Regarding economics, Di An town will focus on removing obstacles to soon perfect infrastructure of the remaining industrial parks; give priority to the development of hi-tech industries, making competitive products and protecting the environment; put an end to production and business development outside industrial parks and compounds; strive to raise the total value of retailed commodities and service to more than VND34trillion; promote the development of trade-service sectors with high added-value…

Di An town’s agricultural sector will also shift its structure towards growth of services and promote the models of growing mushroom, clean vegetable and ornamental creatures…, aiming to reach more than VND18bln in production value by 2015.

Such these part, Di An district will create proper land fund for developing fields in terms of education, education, traffic and urban rejuvenation; well control exploitation of land and soil and propose the province not to grant an extension for the existing stone mines after 2013…
