July 26, a get-together was co-held by Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council, and Fatherland Front Committee to mark the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) with participation of Mr. Vu Minh Sang, Deputy Permanent Secretary of local Party Committee, cum Chairmand of Pronvincial People’s Council, Mr. Le Thanh Cung, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, all-time leaders of the province, Vietnamese heroic mother, 120 representatives of social beneficiary families, and departments, sectors, and agencies across districts, towns, and Thu Dau Mot City.

(Photo by Quoc Chien) On behalf of the plenary get-together, Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Huynh Van Nhi reviewed the brilliant past of the people and the army in Binh Duong Province through two long-term resistance wars against the French colony and the US Army. People got killed, mothers were turned childless. For years, local authorities together with socio-political and religious organizations and entrepreneurs have takencare of the social beneficiary families to show gratitude to those who had fallen for the nation liberation. Mr. Huynh Van Nhi called upon the communities, authority staffs, religious people, and entrepreneurs to donate and support policies for the social beneficiary families.The organizing board has honored 3 models of Mrs. Huynh Kim Oanh (former Director of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, former liasion chief of Dau Tieng B23 unit, victim of hazard chemicals used in wartime, injured veteran of 2/4 tier), Mr. Nguyen The Ky (ill veteran of 1/4 tier), and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghia (General Director of Dai Thien Loc Joint Stock Company, child to martyr).Announcement of heroic mother titles awarded by the State President to 20 mothers was made. Meanwhile, martyr Truong Van Rai, former Deputy Commander of Dong Nai Regiment and martyr Le Van Mam, former leader of Company No. 2 of Battalion No. 3 of Di An wing were recognized as people’s armed force heroes in resistance war against the US Army.Besides, merit certificates of Provincial People’s Committee were awarded to 43 collectives and 47 individuals excelling in gratitude work from 2007 to 2012.Previously, the delegation of local authoritities have paid a visit to provincial martyrs’ monument to offer flowers and incense honoring those who sacrificed themselves to nation liberation and freedom.Reported by Ho Van – Translated by Vi Bao
