Housing development is one of the important fields in the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province, associated with the development of urban and rural areas in a civilized and modern direction; at the same time, contributing to stabilizing the real estate market, improving housing conditions of people, and ensuring social security. To ensure housing development is in line with the set direction, on December 30, 2022, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3893/QD-UBND approving the Housing Development Program for the 2021-2030 period.

Meet people's housing demands
In recent times, the socio-economic aspects of Binh Duong province has developed stably. In particular, the strong growth of the industrial sector has attracted a large number of workers and experts to Binh Duong to work and live, leading to a high demand for housing.
Housing development targets for the period 2021-2025: to develop an additional 16,424,360m2 of commercial housing, urban areas, and residential areas (equivalent to about 104,053 houses); develop an additional 1,890,000m2 of social housing (equivalent to about 42,000 houses); develop an additional 963,223m2 of housing for resettlement. The province strives to increase the floor area of houses built by households and individuals by 6,000,000 m2 (equivalent to about 40,000 houses). |
According to the Housing Development Program for 2021-2030 period, Binh Duong aims to achieve an average housing area per capita of 33.5 square meters of floor space per person by 2025, of which urban areas to reach 34 square meters of floor space per person and rural areas to reach 29.64 square meters of floor space per person. By 2030, the average housing area per capita of the province will reach 42m2 of floor/person, meeting the demand of 3.5 million people (the total population of the province in 2030), of which the urban area will reach 43m2 of floor/person and the rural area will reach 33m2 of floor/person.
The total floor area of new housing in the 2021-2030 period will increase by about 70 million square meters (of which the 2021-2025 period will increase by 25 million square meters, and the 2026-2030 period will increase by 45 million square meters). It is forecast that by 2025, the urbanization rate of the whole province would reach over 85%, and by 2030 it would reach 90%.
Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of the Provincial Department of Construction, said that the Housing Development Program for the period 2021-2030 is being implemented with the goal of developing housing to meet housing needs, especially the housing demands of groups who need support to improve their housing (no housing or unstable housing, not guaranteed in case of natural disasters, climate change); suitable for people's financial resources; eliminating unstable housing and simple housing in the province. The Housing Development Program for the 2021-2030 period will limit and eventually end spontaneous construction; at the same time, ensure safety and meet the requirements of construction quality, architecture, landscape, amenities and environmental friendliness, and be able to respond to climate change...
Improve housing quality
Improving people's housing quality is the main goal in the province's Housing Development Program for the 2021-2030 period. Therefore, Binh Duong province strives to have 99.9% solid housing by 2025 (of which 100% in urban areas and 99.8% in rural areas), with no more rudimentary housing; by 2030, 100% housing will be solid, with no more rudimentary housing; by 2030, 90% of housing will have a synchronous electricity, water, and wastewater supply system and will be connected to the common technical infrastructure system.
For newly developed housing, it is required to ensure quality according to regulations and standards, associated with urban development projects; must ensure synchronous technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, connection of traffic infrastructure, digital infrastructure, design to expand the space of the house towards developing green, sustainable, low-emission space. Binh Duong province also focuses on improving the quality of existing housing by promoting the application of regulations, standards, and planning when renovating and rebuilding individual and family houses and renovating apartment buildings according to synchronous and modern projects.
Up to now, the urbanization rate of the province has reached 84%, the average housing area per capita by the end of 2023 is estimated to reach 31m2/person. Currently, the type of boarding house invested by households and individuals in the province contributes to solving the housing needs of workers. In addition, besides townhouse projects, many real estate projects have appeared in the province and are building high-rise apartments, contributing to changing the urban appearance and developing the city in a civilized and modern direction.
