Early April 19, provincial National Assembly deputy delegation held a monitoring conference on the special subject of "Implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety from 2009 to 2023" in the province.
The event was attended by Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Deputy Head of provincial National Assembly (NA) deputy delegation, Deputy Head of the supervisory delegation; Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Priest Nguyen Van Rien, NA delegate, Vice-Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, Chairman of provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee; leaders of a number of relevant departments and sectors.
At the conference, delegates reported to the monitoring delegation a number of problems in the process of implementing policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety such as overload of traffic infrastructure, limited resources, no specific regulations on decentralization of management of inland waterway, railway, and road safety corridors; regulations in the Law on Public Investment.
In addition, the process of handling vehicles that violate traffic order and safety and are left unclaimed beyond the prescribed time needs to be unimpeded by appraisal and liquidation documents. The temporary detention of driving licenses has been integrated into 2 in 1, causing difficulties for people's daily activities and travel. In addition, sending written notices to violators also faces difficulties, due to incorrect address information, no recipient, causing waste and time. For this issue, delegates also requested changes by sending messages via phone.
Provincial National Assembly deputy delegation recorded a number of difficulties as well as opinions expressed by delegates at the conference and will send them to relevant ministries and sectors for consideration in the upcoming session.
