On August 22, at Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center, Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, to discuss the plan for building the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Binh Duong province.

Mr. Madan appreciated Binh Duong province with its path of development and said India wishes to locate IIT in Binh Duong. IITs, established in 1950, are a network of engineering and technology institutions in India under the auspices of the Indian Ministry of Education, producing many globally renowned technology names. The system of training schools focuses on more than 60 majors, notably information technology, mechanics, and human resource management. Currently, Vietnam and India are continuing to strengthen multi-field cooperation, including economics, culture and education. In particular, education is currently a potential field for the two sides to agree on cooperation and share development experiences.
As realizing that Binh Duong is a locality with great development potential, the Indian Government wishes to invest in IIT facilities in the province, aiming to train high-quality human resources and research and implement information technology and high-tech projects in the province.
