“Learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” movement reviewed

The Central Steering Committee of the “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” movement held a meeting on December 12 to review the four-year campaign.

Addressing the meeting, in the presence of the Party’s General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Phu Trong, Politburo member Truong Tan Sang, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Huynh Dam; To Huy Rua, Politburo member, Head of the Central Commission for Education and Communication, emphasized that since being launched, the movement has helped raise awareness of the great value of the Ho Chi Minh Moral Thought within the entire political system and society.

The movement has always been associated with other campaigns such as ‘Vietnamese using Vietnamese products’, ‘All people build a cultural lifestyle in residential areas’, and ‘Hunger elimination and poverty alleviation’ launched by the VFF and other social organizations, he said.

However, according to the Steering Committee, there are still shortcomings in the implementation of the movement such as the formalism in building moral standards and organizing learning sessions in many localities and organizations.

Reports by organizations and individuals at the meeting also highlighted the achievements and pointed out the weaknesses in the movement’s implementation during the past four years.

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary Nong Duc Manh praised the efforts made by individuals and organizations over the past four years and asked the steering boards at different levels to try their best to speed up the movement, making it a regular activity of the political system and the entire society.

On this occasion, individuals and organizations with outstanding contributions to the movement were granted the Labour Order and the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit.
