In these days, bounding for the 11th national party congress, Binh Duong people feel excited and have believe in the Party and local party committee’s leadership.

At a meeting with local leaders, Hoang Quoc Dung, Trinh Chau Pha, Ong Thi Lan, Le Khac Tam and Co Kim Hoa, who are overseas Vietnamese, expressed their joy of local socio-economic development over years. Many plants, works have offered jobs for many laborers, bringing a comfortable life for residents. Many overseas Vietnamese have returned homeland for investment.

Over years, Binh Duong provincial party committee has made breakthroughs leading in the cause of renewal and administration reform, luring talents and economic sources for the local growth. In early 1995, Binh Duong built Song Than 1 IP in Di An district and this was the first industrial park in Vietnam.

So far, the province has set up 28 IPs occupying over 9,000ha of land, 24 industrial parks and 8 industrial complexes of which have put into operation. With its well-preparation of infrastructure facility, the locality is also the first province leading in the motto of “red-carpet welcome to investors”.

The province has lured 2,006 FDI projects with the total registered capital of US$13.676bil and 10,181 local projects capitalized at VND87,500bil. The locality has lured many large-scaled FDI projects of Ecolakes, Mapletree Vietnam, Kumho Tires, Graft Vina.

Notably, the province decided to set up a reckless project of Binh Duong industry-urban-service complex in Tan Uyen, Ben Cat districts and Thu Dau Mot town 6 years ago. This is the whole country’s largest project with 4,196ha affecting to more than 7,000 households.

Notwithstanding, the local party committee has considered the complex as a breakthrough to reach a rapid and sustainable development for the locality. The whole local political system has focused on promulgation and mobilization to help people learn about the project’s profit. By such efforts, the project completed 97% of site clearance and compensation in late 2008.

At present, 6 IPs located at the complex have lured many investors. Besides, the project’s investor Becamex IDC completed a 120km route with water supply, lighting system, trade center, parks to cater for resettlement areas’ people. About 1,210 households of 4,060 residents have enjoyed a stable life in the resettlement areas and over 5,000 workers have enjoyed stable jobs at the complex.

Especially, Binh Duong New City (1,000ha), the complex’s hub nuclear, serving for hundreds of people is under completion. The city includes the local concentrated political and administration center (100ha), Eastern International University (26ha), financial-banking center, trade street, eco villas… The city will become a centered district of central-run Binh Duong city in the future.

The provincial party committee also issued 4 breakthrough solutions for the period of 2010-2015. They included development of hi-class services, synchronous and modern development of socio-economic infrastructure system, building of new urban area and concentrated administration center and improvement of quality of manpower for the sake of social welfare and national defense.

The local party committee will keep implementing creatively the proposed goals to get high results in local socio-economic development and building according to the trend of industrialization and modernization.
