Binh Duong province is making significant efforts in implementing various solutions to fully uphold the potential and strengths of the local logistics sector. Specifically, the province focuses on investing in key transportation routes, upgrading inland waterway ports, railways, warehouse systems and yards to ensure the smooth, quick circulation of goods and logistics activities, thereby reducing costs for businesses.
Currently, with five inland waterway ports in operation and eleven ports planned and being under the stage of making procedures for investment, Binh Duong’s inland waterway port system is gradually upholding its role and advantages in reducing transportation costs and time for goods circulation. Notably, it helps alleviate pressure on the road transport system and enhances regional connectivity between Binh Duong and other localities in the region.
Thanh Phuoc Dry Port, with its existing warehouse, yard systems and favorable geographical location, can connect with industrial zones and manufacturing plants in the province
After being announced as a dry port by the Ministry of Transport, Thanh Phuoc Port in Tan Uyen city’s Thanh Phuoc ward has become the first officially recognized dry port in Binh Duong. In March 2024, the Ministry of Finance acknowledged a customs clearance location at Thanh Phuoc Dry Port. This development is seen as a "key opening" to unlock Binh Duong's logistics potential.
With its existing warehouse, yard systems and favorable geographical location, Thanh Phuoc Dry Port, can connect with industrial zones and manufacturing plants in the province while aiming at shifting transportation modes towards creating a "green" logistics route, reducing road load and optimizing costs for businesses, Thanh Phuoc Dry Port focuses on developing import-export cargo clearance services via barge routes connecting to port compounds in Ho Chi Minh city and especially connecting to the deep-water port compound of Cai Mep - Thi Vai in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Currently, Thanh Phuoc Port has established a data link between customs agencies and shipping lines. Furthermore, the port has invested in a smart port management system with software such as TOS and Eport, which shortens the time for handling customs procedures, the process of cargo receipt and delivery.
