Residents in My Phuoc township have made great contributions to the local task of making roads this year. Particularly, they voluntarily given land, made site clearance by themselves and contributed 30% of total investment capital for making 18 asphalt and gravel paths.
Nguyen Van Thao in quarter 1 is a typical example for the above mentioned thing. It is known that his family had a fence in the projected area for making a road so he voluntarily broke down the fence without compensation and spent tens of million of dong on building the new one.
The whole township now has 15 asphalt paths and 3 gravel ones with construction commenced this year and it is expected that they will be also fulfilled this year. They have a total investment capital of VND14bln, including 70% of State budget and 30% of the local residents.
The most important thing is that the local residents voluntarily gave their land and actively made site clearance by themselves, but did not require any compensation…, according To Van Duong, chairman of My Phuoc township’s People’s Committee.
Regarding how to make high consensus in the task of making roads among the whole township, Mr.Duong said: “Initially, we set up the township’s project management board, the community investment monitoring board and the mobilization board in each quarter. All the boards regularly monitored construction of the traffic works while having timely cooperation with contractors to deal with problems in the process of realizing them”.
He added: “For each work, we forwarded a meeting to make public its construction and organized a festive day for site clearance among the local residents. The township’s project management board also paid attention to removing the local residents’ queries relating to these works…”.
Also according to Mr.Cuong, it is not simple when making 18 traffic works for one year. But, thanks to high consensus among the local residents and the attention of the local Party and government, My Phuoc township’s task of making 18 asphalt and gravel paths will be fulfilled under the plan.
