Mixing with a welcoming atmosphere of national festival, effort and responsibility of members of election teams, election boards, the provincial Election Committees and public servants contributed to success of elections of the 13th NA and People’s Council at all levels (2011-2016 term), affirmed Mai Son Dung, director of the provincial Department of Home Affairs and Nguyen Quoc Dung, head of governmental department under the local department of Home Affairs.

Mai Son Dung said that the May 22 elections were really a national festival. At the polling stations, numerous voters showed their high responsibility and casted ballots orderly. Before the election day, voters learnt about candidates’ biographies through meetings…
What advantages and disadvantages did staff of electoral teams face, sir?
Nguyen Quoc Dung: our staff under instruction and encouragement from the provincial party committee and local People’s Committee was present early at the provincial Election Committee’s headquarters to recheck documents, means catering for statistics, reports of progress and result of the event.
After completing our obligation at the polling stations, we and leaders of Election Committee arrived at election teams to supervise and encourage members of election teams. The deed contributed to help the election work complete at 5 p.m.
Till about 8 p.m, election teams ended voting and started counting the votes. According to the reports from local districts and townships, the work of voting took place safely.
What do you think about working spirit of election teams, boards?
Mai Son Dung: the election work required a great effort at all levels. The high working spirit of staff across election units contributed to finalize the elections in the province.
What did election units’ staff do to update progress of elections on the provincial website?
Nguyen Quoc Dung: the provincial People’s Committee steered some staff to receive information, progress and result of the elections at all levels through telephone, email and we updated data about elections on the website every hour.
The election day in the province ended successfully. What will be next tasks and when will results of the elections be informed?
Mai Son Dung: after ending the elections, election teams and boards started checking votes and making reports and so on. The initial result will be issued at about 6 a.m of May 23 and the provincial Election Committee will report the Central on results of the elections on May 24. Results of the elections at all levels will be announced between May 27 and June 1.
What will staff do to ensure accuracy of result of the elections?
Nguyen Quoc Dung: Possibly speaking, launching of the election work upheld high responsibility of the entire staff, public servants of election teams and boards. As a unit specializing in serving for the elections, we enjoyed training courses on elections and encouragement from local leaders. Therefore, we actively offered good advices to solve problems relating to the work. Overall, we raised responsibility and solidarity to solve problems and contribute to common success of the country.
