The provincial Fatherland Front Committee just held the first consultation conference to ratify structure, quantity of candidates for the provincial People’s Council in the new term of 2011-2016. Pham Van Canh, chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee had an interview with Binh Duong Newspaper.

How will negotiation process be held in this election?

The negotiation process will be divided into 2 parts including recommendation of personnel for the NA and for People’s Council.

Could you please tell us about recommendation of candidates and idea collection of voters?

Compared with the previous work, recommendation of candidates has newer characters. They include allocation of quantity of candidates that will be implemented more democratically.

Collecting ideas from voters in candidates’ residential and working areas stipulated in detailed by the National Assembly standing commission, Government, the central Fatherland Front Committee’s presidium includes selection of candidates in conformity with voters’ aspirations, voters’ ability assessment of candidates, following consideration of candidates’ files if winning over 50% of support.

How will idea collection from voters in residential areas for self-nominated candidates be implemented, sir?

Self-nominated candidates will be collected ideas from voters in their residential areas. However, if self-nominated candidates are sick, their relatives will replace them to attend conference on collecting ideas from voters in their residential areas. This is the new character compared to the previous elections.
