New features of ordinances valid from July 1

* From July 1, 2021, the Residence Law 2020 officially takes effect. The Residence Law 2020 replaces the Residence Law 2006 and the Amended Residence Law 2013 with some new points as follows:

- From July 1, 2021 on, new household books and/or temporary residence books will not be issued to citizens registering for permanent and/or temporary residence.

The residence registry will update information about the new temporary and/or permanent residence and temporary residing term of the registered to database of residence.

- Banned actions of residence are added as follows:

+ Illegal access, exploitation, destruction, obstruction, disruption of operations, changes, erasure, distribution, and supply the information of residence database;

+ Refusal and/or delay of receiving documents and information of residence registration or other disruptive actions;

+ Implementation failure or late implementation of residence registration for citizens as the documents are all eligible for residence registration; erasure of permanent residence and/or illegal temporary residence registration.

- The household split after divorce will no longer require the written consent of the other ex-wife/ex-husband.

(It currently regulates that household split should only be allowed by written consent of the householder)

* Starting from July 1, 2021, the revised Law on Prevention and Control of HIV Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) 2020 has also officially taken effect with a number of notable points as follows:

- The HIV infected are obliged to timely notify the positive HIV tests to:

+ Wife, husband or to-be-married partner;

+ Cohabitant as husband/wife (those subjects are added)

- Subjects prioritized for access to information, education, and communication about HIV/AIDS prevention and control, for example:

+ Transgender;

+ Prisoners, temporary prisoners, compulsory training inmates, trainees of educational camps, and trainees of drug detoxification;

+ Ethnics, people living in mountainous, remote, island, and border regions and regions of specially difficult socio-economic conditions;

+ People of 13-30 age range.
