Born into a poor family in Mekong Delta, Vo Van Kiet was engaged to revolutionary causes in his youth. He was named as the communist royalty and talented leader of the Party and Vietnamese revolution. He, especially, contributed to the reforms and preparation of the nation to escape crisis and integrate into the world. 70 years have passed for the time struggling with revolution in Vinh Long hometown, he has been in various positions of the government. His life was so close to the honorable and full of hardship struggle life of the Party. The elite communist Phan Van Hoa – his birth name, was born and grew up at Trung Hiep Commune of Vung Liem District in Vinh Long – the land of revolutionary tradition and invasion uprisings. Loc When the French colony made their invasion to our nation, majority of soldiers and the people have stood against the colony in Vinh Long. Inheriting the patriotism and strong struggle of the nation, Phan Van Hoa was oriented to revolutionary movements. Being guided by older generations, in 1938, at his 16s, Phan Van Hoa attended the movement of youths uprising against the colony. By November 1939, he was admitted to Indochina Communist Party and promoted to position of Secretary and member of Vung Liem Party Committee in the leadership of Southern Region Revolution in Vinh Long. Under designation of the Party, he successfully fulfilled his duty and won a lot of tributes. Ever since 1973 and to the reunification date of the South, he was designated to major managing positions. He has especially succeeded in leading our force in Ho Chi Minh campaign to liberate the South and unify the nation. He became a prestige leader entrusted and protected by local people. In all circumstances and positions, he was the model of royalty and talented revolutionist servicing the nation and the people. His name was together with the development of Ho Chi Minh City where he led local people through difficult times. His active, creative and tight directions have helped promoting all aspects of socio-economic and security fields. He saved his time to listen to everyone to collect ideas for his creative decisions. People may thought that he could raise up creative ideas almost everyday. Knowing to himself that the city economy should not be separated from Dong Nam Bo Region, Highland and the South Part of middle land. Thus, he held a lot of meetings with leaders from those regions to discuss measures to resolve the problems emerged. And, the 15 years working in Ho Chi Minh City was his time of utmost success admired by local people for promoting the city into a place of energetic economic activities.
