On July 8, Thu Dau Mot City has received a donation of 100 giant crape-myrtle trees from Mr. Nguyen Van Thoa, a resident of Phu Loi ward. The trees are a part of the greening campaign in the urban area, with the goal of establishing a "green-friendly Thu Dau Mot City" in the period of 2024-2030 and beyond. These new seedlings were imported from abroad (photo).
Mr. Thoa mentioned that during his trip abroad, he discovered a new variety of giant crape-myrtle that produces beautiful handicraft woodwork and has high economic value. Therefore, he imported it as a gift to Thu Dau Mot City to plant it in local public lands. Also, last week Thu Dau Mot City received 1,000 red oak trees from Ms. Nguyen Hong Loan, a resident of Chanh My ward.
