Since the early days of 2024, in order to achieve the set goals, Tan Uyen city has been making efforts to accelerate the transformation of its growth model, restructure the economy, enhance productivity, quality, efficiency, autonomy, adaptability, competitiveness, and sustainability.

According to the report from the People's Committee of Tan Uyen city, the situation in 2023 unfolded under more challenging conditions than favorable ones. The city's economy and society have gradually recovered positively, achieving many favorable results, with all 23 targets being met and exceeded. Among them, the value of industrial and construction production is estimated at 37,332 billion VND, an increase of 13.14% compared to 2022. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to reach 21,936 billion Vietnamese dong, an increase of 23.27% compared to 2022. It is worth noting that the total state budget revenue is projected to reach 4,418 billion VND, achieving 121% of the provincial allocation estimate (3,643 billion VND). This represents a significant growth rate in the context of the domestic economy being heavily impacted by the global economic situation.

Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Uyen city, stated that 2024 is projected to be a year filled with numerous difficulties and challenges, demanding higher and better growth in both quantity and quality. Tan Uyen city is making concentrated efforts to mobilize all available resources for development. The entire city is determined to work diligently and efficiently right from the early days and months of the year in order to fulfill the economic targets set for the entire year.

To develop modern urban infrastructure

In recent times, Tan Uyen city has been enhancing investments in technical infrastructure and social infrastructure in accordance with the planned development, contributing to the rapid transformation of the urban landscape. The urban technical infrastructure is becoming increasingly comprehensive, unified, sophisticated, and modern. The synchronized transportation system, connected to both local and external areas of the province, includes waterway and land transportation, as well as port and warehouse facilities. In addition, infrastructure projects such as the Ho Chi Minh city Vanh Dai 3, the Ho Chi Minh city Vanh Dai 4, and the Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh Expressway passing through Tan Uyen create opportunities to enhance economic connectivity and trade for Tan Uyen.

In 2024, Tan Uyen city will focus on implementing investment procedures, accelerating the progress of new construction projects, expediting the construction of transitional projects, and completing the construction of projects commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Tan Uyen city. The local government and residents of this young city are continuously leveraging existing advantages, addressing unmet standards, and determined to transform Tan Uyen city into a second-class urban area as soon as possible.

Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi stated that Tan Uyen city aims to be recognized as a second-class urban area in the shortest possible time, moving towards building a smart, civilized, and modern city. To achieve this goal, the city is prioritizing investment in various urban infrastructure projects.
