Early September 24, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee received Firdauz Bin Othman, the Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city, for a courtesy visit.

At the reception, Mr. Ha, on behalf of provincial leader, expressed gratitude to Mr. Firdauz Bin Othman for his visit and provided an overview of the province's socio-economic development situation over the past years. With an open and attractive investment environment, Binh Duong has consistently been among the country’s leading provinces and cities in foreign direct investment attraction in recent years. Specifically, in the first nine months of 2024, the province attracted US$ 1.2 billion. The whole province has so far had over 4,350 investment projects from 65 countries and territories, with total registered capital of over US$ 41 billion. Among them, Malaysia ranks 13th among 65 countries and territories with investment projects in Binh Duong, with 94 projects capitalized at over US$834 million. The main areas of investment include real estate, wood processing, medical instruments, and manufacturing industries... Mr. Ha expressed hope that this visit by the Consul General would contribute to further enhancing cooperation between Malaysian businesses and the province.
The Consul General of Malaysia in HCM city thanked provincial leaders for receiving the delegation and expressed his impression for socio-economic achievements done by Binh Duong province over the past time. Espencially, he noted that the province's favorable investment environment is a destination of interest for many Malaysian investors. The Consul General expressed confidence that Binh Duong would develop even more strongly in the future while hoping that the cooperative relationship between Malaysia and Vietnam, specifically Binh Duong, would become stronger.
