Springtime is coming to town

In these days, the streets, parks, and public areas of Thu Dau Mot city are being enhanced and cleaned by the relevant authorities. Many areas in the city center are beautifully decorated, attracting a large number of people, especially young ones to visit and take photos. The city is renewing its appearance to welcome the coming of spring.

In order to practically commemorate the 27 anniversary of Binh Duong's construction and development, welcome the new year 2024, and celebrate CPV events and the Lunar New Year (the Year of the Dragon) Thu Dau Mot city has devised a plan to organize various cultural, artistic, physical education, sports, and traditional folk games activities with the aim of creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among the people.

A tour around the inner city of Thu Dau Mot reveals a vibrant atmosphere as the central roundabout (Phu Cuong intersection), Cach Mang Thang Tam street, Yersin street, Bach Dang street, Tran Hung Dao street, Quang Trung street, and Phu Loi street are filled with the festive spirit of the approaching spring. Many streets have been adorned with new and unique decorations, spreading meaningful messages and showcasing the image of a smart, dynamic, and modern city.

Alongside the activities to celebrate the New Year 2024 and commemorate the 27th anniversary of Binh Duong's construction and development, numerous activities to celebrate the Party and welcome the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse have been assigned by the city to various units to serve the people and tourists during the Tet holiday. The highlight is the organization of the Spring Flower Market, Bach Dang Flower Street, and Bach Dang Pedestrian Street during the Lunar New Year. The Spring Flower Market will be held on Bach Dang Street (from the intersection of Ngo Quyen - Bach Dang to Ong Kiem Bridge) and the Pedestrian Street (the extended section of Bach Dang Street, behind the Binh Duong College of Fine Arts and Culture) will be implemented by the People's Committee of Phu Cuong Ward and relevant departments. Here, various types of flowers and ornamental plants will be displayed and sold to meet the shopping and decoration needs of the people during the New Year celebration. The Flower Street on Bach Dang Street, organized by the Urban Management Department, the Department of Culture - Information - Sports, and the Cultural - Information Center, Sports City, will feature flower landscapes, colorful lights, and decorations of apricot and peach blossoms, as well as a display of the five-fruit tray as a welcoming symbol for the new year.

In addition to the activities at the Spring Flower Market, Bach Dang Flower Street, and Walking Street, numerous Lunar New Year celebrations with the theme "Thu Dau Mot Welcomes Spring" are being organized in 14 wards, schools, and various institutions to serve the residents. During the joyful days of the Lunar New Year, the competition for decorating apricot and peach trees with the theme "Spring Corner"; the Spring Corner as a common identification point for Thủ Dầu Một City, with 14 wards associated with local characteristic products and traditional craft villages, is organized to implement the criteria of "5 exemplary citizens" in the implementation of the Project to enhance the quality of the cultural and civilized urban lifestyle. This event aims to create a cheerful and meaningful atmosphere during the New Year celebration.

During the occasion of the Lunar New Year, TP.Thu Dau Mot will also organize a program of artistic water music performances on the Saigon River, in conjunction with a comprehensive music and dance program. Additionally, there will be a street art program to serve the residents at Bach Dang Pedestrian Street, Phu Cuong Ward.

In order to create a joyful atmosphere on the streets, local clusters of landscapes serve as focal points for tourists and residents visiting the area for sightseeing and appreciation. The city's functional departments will decorate the traffic intersections and roads with LED lighting systems. The leaders of Thu Dau Mot city have requested the implementation of decoration and organization activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year in a lively, attractive, cost-effective manner, without extravagance, but also without creating a monotonous atmosphere for a joyful and enthusiastic Tet celebration among the people.
