In the context of increasingly complex global trade, trade defense measures such as anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguards are being widely used, causing many difficulties for export businesses. Binh Duong, a key industrial province with many leading manufacturing and exporting companies in Vietnam, is also not exempt from this trend.
As of 2024, the number of trade defense investigations related to Vietnam's export goods has increased significantly. Binh Duong province has also recorded numerous cases of businesses being investigated, especially in the wood and wood products industry. This not only disrupts the supply chain but also has a negative impact on the production and export of businesses.

Specifically, in recent times, Binh Duong province has received attentive support from units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cases of trade defense. Typical examples include the Australian investigation into anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on galvanized steel, aluminum-zinc-coated steel (in 2020); the US investigation into anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on plywood (in 2020); the US investigation into the scope of products and anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on wooden cabinets (in 2022). The United States investigates anti-subsidy with paper discs (2024); Canada investigates, reviews anti-dumping, anti-subsidy duties on upholstered seats (2024).

Binh Duong province is fully aware of the importance of commercial defense and is implementing various synchronized solutions to support businesses in dealing with commercial defense investigations, including:
- Strengthen the propaganda and dissemination of knowledge about trade defense for the business community; organize seminars and in-depth training courses on trade defense for managers and employees of businesses, helping them understand the relevant regulations, procedures, and necessary defense measures.
- Support businesses in developing and implementing plans to respond to trade remedy investigations, including collecting evidence, preparing files, documents, and participating in the trade remedy investigation process.
- Enhance cooperation with central ministries and departments, industry associations, and international organizations to share information, experiences, and coordinate the resolution of trade defense cases.
- Encourage businesses to expand their export markets, reduce dependence on a few traditional markets, thereby minimizing risks when encountering trade defense measures.
Thanks to these efforts, many businesses in Binh Duong have become more proactive in protecting their rights and minimizing losses when facing trade defense investigations. However, there are still many challenges that require the collaboration of the government, businesses, and relevant organizations.

In the coming time, Binh Duong will continue to promote trade defense work, focusing on solutions to support businesses in improving the quality and value of products, meeting the increasing demands of the international market; building and promoting product brand, enhancing competitiveness in the market; encouraging businesses to apply information technology in management, production and business, improving operational efficiency and adaptability to the global commercial environment.
Although facing many challenges, Binh Duong still has many opportunities for sustainable development in the context of international economic integration. By implementing the above-mentioned solutions in a synchronized manner, the province can enhance the competitiveness of businesses, protect their legitimate rights in the international market, and continue to actively contribute to the economic development of the country.
With determination and relentless effort, Binh Duong will continue to be a bright spot in the work of trade defense, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights of businesses and promoting sustainable development of the economy.
