The atmosphere of welcoming the Tet holiday becomes more lively and enthusiastic in the hearts of everyone in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of 2024. Participating in the activities of the "Humanitarian Tet" movement during the Spring of 2024, which are taking place from the province to localities, we can clearly feel the warmth and compassion spreading everywhere, bringing the joy of spring to everyone.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of Binh Duong provincial Red Cross awards gifts of the Humanitarian Tet 2024 to people of hardship
The heart-warming market session
As part of the activities in the "Humanitarian Tet" movement this year, the Red Cross of the province has recently collaborated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to organize a session of the "VND-0 Market", providing gifts to hundreds of disadvantaged people, workers, and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin in the province. In addition to Tet gifts such as essential goods and medical supplies, those who receive support for shopping also receive cash and free medical examination vouchers worth over 600 million VND. With Tet approaching and many difficulties still present, receiving timely care, support, and sharing from the Red Cross along with relevant agencies, organizations, and sponsors, brings immense and indescribable joy.
Unlike regular markets where you have to bring money to buy goods, at the "VND-0 Market", people only need to hold a small voucher to purchase all goods and essential items for zero VND. When attending the market, Ms. Hoang Thi Sau from Tan Dinh commune, Bac Tan Uyen district, couldn't hide her joy when receiving a lot of goods. Ms. Sau said, "It's almost Tet (Lunar New Year) now, and with the support from the province, my family will have a warm and joyful Tet."
"VND-0 Market" is a humanitarian activity regularly organized by the Red Cross at all levels in the province. Especially during this Lunar New Year, in order to bring warmth and joy to people who are still facing difficulties and vulnerable groups, this act of kindness market is continuously implemented from provincial to district and commune levels, even at the neighborhood level. Despite the busy preparations and the challenging arrangement of stalls, the officials, members, and volunteers in the Red Cross uniforms, along with organizations, units, and philanthropists, always greet the people with smiles and warmth as they welcome them to the free Tet shopping fair. Each item, each gift sent to the community is a heartfelt gesture, containing the value of sharing with the desire to help those in need reduce some of the expenses so that everyone can celebrate Tet, enjoy the spring in excitement.
Resources collectively connected to rejoice
To prepare for the Lunar New Year of 2024, which is the Year of the Wood Horse, and to continue promoting the traditional values of unity and the spirit of mutual support among the people, the political system of the province has been actively and proactively implementing various social welfare policies. In recent days, numerous activities and programs have been implemented at various levels to ensure the well-being of the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially those who have made contributions to the revolution, policy beneficiaries, social protection beneficiaries, social insurance beneficiaries, poor households, children in difficult circumstances, unemployed workers, and those who have lost their jobs to ensure that every household and individual have the conditions to enjoy a joyful spring and welcome the Lunar New Year.
Mr. Le Phu Tam, Chairman of the Red Cross of Di An city, stated that the Red Cross of the city has essentially completed the organization of the "VND-0 Market - Tet of Humanity" sessions for 2024. In this year's "Tet of Humanity" program, the Red Cross of the city and the wards have mobilized and distributed 6,000 gifts to vulnerable groups in the area, with special priority given to those with particularly difficult circumstances. Furthermore, the Red Cross Association of Dĩ An City has also mobilized sponsors to support the funding for the construction of three Red Cross houses for disadvantaged people in need of housing. The programs and activities within the "Charitable Tet" movement have demonstrated the spirit of "mutual support and compassion," encouraging households to have a joyful and warm Tet holiday filled with love and affection. Mr. Le Phu Tam shared such sentiment.
For the movement in the Lunar New Year of 2024, the Red Cross at all levels in the province has implemented various activities, such as organizing a "VND-0 Market", visiting and giving Tet gifts, handing over Red Cross houses, providing support to children who have lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and many other social charity activities. Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Le Trinh of the provincial Red Cross Society stated that in order to carry out these meaningful and practical activities, the society always receives the attention and guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, the provincial People's Committee, the coordination of departments, agencies, organizations, and the support of resources from various institutions, units, businesses, and philanthropists. The organization hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of institutions, units, businesses, and philanthropists to sustain humanitarian activities and provide assistance to even more disadvantaged individuals in the province in the coming time.
"Humanitarian Tet" - the Tet of love and sharing, the Tet that brings joy to people who are still facing difficulties and hardships in life. In the atmosphere filled with the joy of the approaching Tet, the poor, the disadvantaged, the laborers who cannot afford to go back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, and the victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, orphaned children also feel more heartwarming when they receive the caring and sharing full of love from the Provincial Red Cross and the kind-hearted individuals from the "Humanitarian Tet" movement. The "Humanitarian Tet" gifts are still being urgently delivered by the Red Cross at all levels to provide assistance to those in need, bringing joy to thousands of difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to celebrate Tet in a warm, complete, and meaningful way.
