TDMU and Department of Science and Technology sign a collaboration agreement on STEM education and innovation
To enhance the helix cooperation
During the industrialization process, Binh Duong province has early integrated the goals of promoting science and technology with socio-economic development, gradually turning science and technology into an important driving force in overall strategies, creating a premise to attract high-value investment and sustainable development in the 4th industrial revolution era.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Long, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that starting from the State's vision of innovation, the province is determined to apply the "three-house" learning model from Eindhoven - the Netherlands, promoting cooperation between the State, businesses, and schools - institutes, creating conditions and encouraging organizations throughout society to invest in development.
To develop an innovative ecosystem based on the direction of the Central Government, Binh Duong has issued and strongly implemented many policies, among which the prominent one is Project 826 "Supporting small and medium-sized innovative startups in Binh Duong province until 2025". From the orientation of the province, businesses, institutes, and schools are encouraged and provided with maximum conditions to build a series of infrastructure and services to promote startups and technology experimentation, such as the International East University's Incubation Center and 4.0 Lab of international standard. The startup support center follows the Singapore Block71 model, a collaboration between the National University of Singapore and Becamex IDC. The advanced production center supports businesses in improving productivity and quality. The startup support center is affiliated with Thu Dau Mot University.
The ‘ecosytem’ development
As one of the core nuclei in implementing the Smart City Project in Binh Duong, TDMU has been continuously expanding its network of connections with domestic and foreign units, focusing on the rapid and effective implementation of collaborative activities. Through this, TDMU contributes to realizing the development goals of the university, meeting the urgent needs of society, and serving the strategic construction of the smart city of Binh Duong.
Recently, TDMU has organized a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with the Academy of Science and Technology, innovation in coordinating the organization of in-depth training courses, enhancing the capacity for innovation, scientific and technological management, management capacity, technology commercialization for managers, businesses, promoting and implementing technology search and transfer activities. Previously, the Academy of Science and Technology, innovation, the Ministry of Science and Technology has organized the opening ceremony of the Southern Innovation Office at TDMU.
TDMU has also signed a cooperation program with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training in STEM education activities and innovation, scientific research, entrepreneurship, productivity development, and quality improvement.
At the inauguration ceremony of the Southern Innovation Office, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Rector of TDMU, stated that the announcement of the collaborative innovation space representative of the South at TDMU is not only evidence of the trusted relationship between the two parties, but also demonstrates the shared determination to promote innovation, develop the startup ecosystem, and contribute to the sustainable development of Binh Duong province in particular and the Southern region in general.
Binh Duong province has implemented the Creative Innovation Region project - the focus of the smart city project to connect all the works and startup areas throughout the province. According to this project, the southern part of the Creative Innovation Region is connected to Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City); the northern part is adjacent to Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) to form a creative innovation axis of the key economic region in the South, in which the new city is the nucleus. The region concentrates resources to create leverage for new development, such as building smart industrial parks, clusters of internationally standardized universities combined with livable urban areas, and fostering innovative and open ecosystem for renewal.
Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Academy of Science and Technology - Innovation and Creativity: The goal of arranging workspace at TDMU is to facilitate collaboration and provide favorable conditions for coordinating and effectively implementing research, training, development, and scientific and technological services between the two parties. This space will serve as a connecting hub to optimize the exchange of information, resources, and human capital. It will also foster close collaboration and creativity among experts, researchers, and relevant parties, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of collaborative activities that promote sustainable development and innovative advancements in the field of science and technology. Mr. Nguyen Viet Long, Director of the Department of Science and Technology: The main focus of the province's new era of Science and Technology is to attract resources, connect three sectors. Strong support for businesses to improve their level, reduce labor redundancy, digital transformation, and apply 4.0 technology to enhance productivity and quality.
