Young worker support enhanced in Di An city

Di An city has over time implemented various programs, models, and effective ways of promoting unity and gathering young workers. This has significantly contributed to caring for young migrant workers in the area.

Life care

Every afternoon, the playground in Tan A neighborhood, Tan Dong Hiep ward, always attracts many children. The playground is located near many dormitories to serve children who are the offspring of migrant workers coming from rural areas to play. This playground model was implemented by the Youth Union of Di An, installing 7 facilities in An Binh, Tan Dong Hiep, Tan Binh, Binh Thang, Di An, and Dong Hoa wards. In addition, the Youth Union directs the Youth bases to maintain and renovate the existing playgrounds throughout the city to serve the children in the residential areas for entertainment.

Not only that, the underprivileged children living in boarding houses also participate in a love class organized by the Youth Union of the wards. In Miếu Bà ấp Thượng, Châu Thới neighborhood, Bình An ward, there has been a love class maintained for over 10 years. The students are the children of migrant workers from rural areas who are facing difficulties and therefore do not have the means to attend school. Through the charitable classes, the Youth Union of the wards has maintained educational activities, caring with a loving heart, helping the children have a place to study. To provide the children with full conditions for studying and playing, the Youth Union and grassroots Youth Union regularly care about giving gifts, organizing playgrounds, providing support for difficulties, educating and training skills.

Every year, from the programs of the Organizing Committee of the Youth Solidarity Initiative for Young Workers and Laborers, the Youth Union and the Women's Union of the city have organized many activities to improve the material and spiritual life of young workers in boarding houses. In which, the units have creatively applied the program "Tet meal" at the youth union branches of workers in rented accommodations, attracting more than 3,000 members to participate and the program "Spread love, receive happiness" to give thousands of gifts, necessities to working people of difficulties.

In addition, the urban youth also organize cultural programs on Tet holidays, maintain the "Festival of Ethnic Cultures and Religions"; at the same time, mobilize philanthropists and landlords to donate thousands of gifts to disadvantaged workers in boarding houses. Over the past 3 years, localities in the city have also donated 13 "Dream Rooms", helping young workers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Coordinated propaganda

During an activity at the Youth Union of workers living in boarding house 69/9, Western Quarter B, Dong Hoa Ward, the Organizing Committee provided young workers living in boarding houses with a lot of useful information. Specifically, the Youth Union of the Ward collaborated with the Ward Police to disseminate some provisions of the Labor Code regarding employment contracts for workers and employers; alert information about online fraud through social media. During the propaganda sessions, the workers living in dormitories receive useful information; thereby enhancing knowledge, skills for themselves and participating in building a cultural, civilized lifestyle in the area.

Over the past period, the sectors and members participating in the Project Organizing Committee at all levels in the city have regularly cooperated well in enhancing communication to workers and tenants. The Youth Union, the Women's Union in coordination with the City Radio Station report on young workers, legal advice columns, and FM radio programs for young workers on weekends. Along with that, the city police coordinate with the Youth Union in disseminating legal knowledge, educating members, young workers, and youth in rented accommodations; organizing legal support, providing legal advice, equipping self-defense skills, combating drugs, social evils among young workers, fire prevention and fighting in rented accommodations and enterprises.

Ms. Lam Hoang Thuy Trang, Secretary of the Youth Union of Di An, stated: "The city's Youth Union regularly collaborates with the Department of Justice and the city's Court to organize simulated court sessions in youth worker unions. These sessions help young workers enhance their awareness to stay away from social vices." The Youth Union and the Organizing Committee of the project at all levels enhance propaganda materials for workers in dormitories by distributing Binh Duong newspaper, attaching monthly propaganda leaflets on the workers' bulletin board with sections on the local security situation, updating policies related to workers' interests. These propaganda activities have mobilized, built a lifestyle and work according to the Constitution, laws, contributing to stabilizing local security, order, and social safety in the area.
