The People's Committee of Binh Duong province has decided to recognize communes as meeting advanced new rural standards 2023. Accordingly, nine communes are meeting advanced rural standards and are recognized: Tan Hung, Hung Hoa, Tru Van Tho (Bau Bang district); Tan Lap (Bac Tan Uyen district); An Binh, Tam Lap, Phuoc Hoa (Phu Giao district); and An Lap, Minh Thanh (Dau Tieng district). So far, all 41 communes in the province meet the required standards, 38 out of 41 communes meet advanced standards, one commune meets the cultural model standards, and 3 out of 6 district-level units are recognized for meeting the new rural construction standards and completing the task of building new rural areas. The whole province strives to have 1-2 communes that meet model standards, smart communes, and e-commerce communes by the end of 2024.
The province's rural appearance has been transformed by the program for new rural area construction. Significant investments have been made in the socio-economic, technical infrastructure, leading to fundamental and synchronous improvements that meet development requirements. By the end of 2023, the average income per capita in rural areas reached 80 million VND/person/year.
