Binh Duong Province in promoting and developing friendly partnership with Champasak

 Binh Duong Newspaper reporters interviewed Mr. Vu Minh Sang, permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, cum Chairman of People’s Council on the special relationship of traditions and friends between Vietnam and Laos.Reporter: On the occasion of 50th anniversary of diplomat relationship establishment of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and People’s Democratic Republic of Laos, the 35th anniversary of friendly and partnership treaty signing of Vietnam and Laos, and “year of friendly unity of Vietnam and Laos in 2012”, please let us be informed of this special relationship.  The delegates from Laos are watching high-end pottery making of Minh Long I Co. Ltd. Mr. Vu Minh Sang: The two nations of Vietnam and Laos in Indochinese peninsula have long established special relationship formerly fostered by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kayson Phomvihan and generations of leaders of both government, parties, and the people. Through challenges and sacrifices, freedom and happiness have come to both peoples in indespensible relationship which created power for revolutionary cause of each nation. In the resistance wars, the people of the two nations have united to retrieve liberty. We have supported each other to overcome difficulties in developing the nation. History and reality have proved that the relationship is typical and worthwhile as foundation for prosperity, peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.Reporter: Binh Duong Province has signed an agreement minutes to strenghten the special tie and thorough cooperation with Champasak. In your opinion, what are the meanings of such cooperation in terms of development?Mr. Vu Minh Sang: together with tightening friendly and special tie,the two provinces have made great efforts in promoting indepth cooperation and relationship. On November 13, 2006, the leaders of the two provinces have signed agreement minutes on enhancing friendly tie and maintaining cooperation in many factors including exchanges of experience in building up the party, the authorities and especially in economic fields.The relationship between Binh Duong and Champasak is not purely political and diplomat tie but also cooperative socio-economic development in win-win manner. Uncle Ho has once taught us that “helping other is to help yourself”. Thus, the tie should be tightened.Reporter: Please inform us about the achievements after 6 years signing the agreement minutes between Binh Duong and Champasak.Mr. Vu Minh Sang: As for special friendly tie and multi-factor cooperation, after 6 years, the two provinces have earned great achivements in terms of building up the Party and authority. In economic fields, enterprises in Binh Duong has invested over USD 35 million to Champasak in projects of rubber tree plantations and latex processing factory establishment. Besides, Binh Duong Province has sponsored thousands of USD to Champasak Province to build up Olympic pools servicing the National Sports Games of Laos. For years, Binh Duong Province’s doctors have also made frequent visits to Champasak to offer free medicines and healthcare. Enterprises of Binh Duong Province in Champasak also participate into charity work by constructing traffic roads, installing power gridlines, drilling wells at total value of about VND 8.4 bilion, of which VND 8.22 billion is for Champasak Province.In terms of HR development, up to date, Binh Duong Province has received and sponsored fulltime scholarship to 20 students from Champasak Province attending courses in Binh Duong University.Reporter: How about Champasak Province’s side?Mr. Vu Minh Sang: Champasak Province supports all the teams from Binh Duong Province making survey and doing researches for investment opportunities. They also support us with procedures for investment licenses and incorporation to implement the project of rubber tree planting over 10,000 hectares of land by Dau Tieng Viet-Lao Rubber Joint Stock Company.Besides, they support us in surveying raw mineral materials preparing for project of pottery production and construction materials as well as project of golf-villa-hotel complex in Champasak Province. Officials and civil servants of Binh Duong Province have also been supported with scholarship of language training at Champasak University.Reporter: You have led delegations of Binh Duong Province to Champasak Province for many times. So, in your view, which are the strength that enterprises in Binh Duong Province should consider before investing to this locality?Mr. Vu Minh Sang: They prioritize investments into agriculture, particularly industrial trees as well as agricultural processing for domestic consume and exporting. They are impressed by pottery making, construction materials, and especially industrial development in Binh Duong Province. As the matter of fact, they call upon us to invest into such fields in Champasak Province.Reporter: For the time to come, what should leaders of Binh Duong Province and Champasak Province do to promote this special tie into a new height?Mr. Vu Minh Sang: To promote this special and cooperative tie, we should consider the unity binding us. On the basis of agreements, we should promote what have been signed while doing our best the projects mentioned.
