Comments on the diary named "The he Ho Chi Minh" (Ho Chi Minh Generation)

Mr. Tran Quang Bao, Vice Chairman of the Association of the Elderly: The diary is a valuable resource. On reading the diary named "The he Ho Chi Minh (Ho Chi Minh generation), I was enlighten with knowledge about the national liberation war which was so fierce. The soldiers living in hard conditions, after all, up-rose to fight for national independence. In the 1960s and 1970 of the previous century, the war was at its most intense period. The then-generation was very proud and honored as frontline soldiers against the US Army.Bombs could not extinguish but fan up the desire for freedom and independence of the elite youths who were all ready for battles. The most precious thing of all was that the 50-year buried diary and subject remains of the soldier (author of the diary) were in tact. The diary was written by the heart, the emotions, the will and the enthusiasm of a brave revolutionary soldier devoted royally to the nation. Therefore, today's younger generation should respect and learn from that. In the most extreme and harsh conditions, the revolutionists still showed their love for their homeland, the nation. They desired to contribute. Meanwhile, many today young people do not contribute anything to the country but are always demanding for personal benefits. The younger generations should live as the way described in the diary: "Youth is the force contributing to the most revolutionary cause and also the social construction of the future".For those who are fortunate to live in peacetime, respect and appreciation for those who had fallen down for peace and development should be enhanced.  Tran Thi Thanh Trang, Deputy Secretary of the An Thanh Ward Youth's League (Thuan An Town):The first time I read the article named "Ky vat tu long dat" (the underground remains) on Binh Duong Newspaper, I was immediately attracted to the diary entitled "The he Ho Chi Minh" (Ho Chi Minh Generation) because I am an officer woring in the related field - the Youth's League, thus, I pay much attention to information about Uncle Ho and others. I am so attracted to the previous 2 diaries of Dang Thuy Tram and Nguyen Van Thac; now, the third one is golden to me. Issue after issue, I realized the true heroine of M. - a lady of benevolent ideology who adored her nation and upheld the desire to contribute her youth to the homeland. Although I only read diary indirectly but each time I could see lively the images of her through the narrative words. The text in the diary was so close and rustic, reflecting the tone of a Southern girl gentle, naive but also containing a strong combat will to fight for the nation till the end. I specially like the 2nd series of "Song nhu anh" (Living like he is) in which she always followed the example of Nguyen Van Troi to live and fight. And the younger generation today should follow her example so as to dovote to the activities of the Youth's League, participating into community volunteer work, taking care of social disadvantaged families and those families contributed to the revolution, and practice of human moral virtue training. The younger generation today is not in middle of wars but they should fight for the cause of national construction and defense. I hope that this diary will soon be published as a book for majority of people, especially the younger generation to help them learn the noble ideal. Reported by T.Thao-N. Nhu – Translated by Vi Bao
