Along with breakthroughs in transport infrastructure, Binh Duong continues to build and develop smart and modern urban areas in the new period.
Binh Duong New City, key area of the smart city, is showing strong development
Complete infrastructure
With the motto "transportation infrastructure goes first, paving the way", for more than a quarter of a century, Binh Duong has proactively invested in synchronous and thorough transport infrastructure, creating a breakthrough with many achievements in investment attraction and economic development. Many key transport infrastructure projects, ring roads and radial axes have been completed and put into use effectively.
National Highway 13 is the "backbone" traffic axis passing through many localities in the province, connecting Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, the Central Highlands provinces with Ho Chi Minh City and is currently being expanded. Both sides of Highway 13 are planned as service, financial, and commercial centers, expanding trade of goods, becoming a "push" for urban and industrial development, playing a special role in socio-economic development of Binh Duong. Along with National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van road passes through localities in the province, connecting industrial parks to become a vital route in goods transportation of Binh Duong.
To continue creating breakthroughs, Binh Duong is fiercely and diligently investing and implementing key transportation projects, which are the lifeblood of the province and the region, such as Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City and Ring Road 4 Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway, Bau Bang - Thi Vai - Cai Mep railway... to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development towards industrialization and urbanization. Once completed, these projects will create a synchronous transportation system and a clear urban landscape.
Trinh Hoang Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Planning and Investment, said: “To create strength for the breakthrough, in recent times the province has actively coordinated with neighboring provinces and cities to build and upgrade transport infrastructure and facilitate regional connectivity. Besides the two driving economic axes of National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van road, inter-regional transportation routes such as National Highway 14, Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, the province is promoting investment in more key projects of the northern zone."
The province is making efforts to speed up the progress of two routes, Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang. After these two routes are completed, along with DT746 and DT744, it will make districts of Dau Tieng, Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, which are remote areas of the province, "closer" to central urban areas, at the same time creating a continuous and synchronous connected infrastructure system, stimulating economic trade and services, lifting the face of rural areas.
Upgrading and expanding National Highway 13 not only meets transportation demands but also helps Binh Duong develop urban areas, trade, services, and attract investment.
Binh Duong focuses all its efforts on investment, strives to basically complete some expressways in the province by 2025 and by 2030 to synchronously develop the intra-provincial transportation system and regional connectivity, with diverse types of roads, waterways, and railways. In particular, one of Binh Duong's priorities is to develop the transportation infrastructure system with the goal of transforming into a modern and smart urban area.
Associate Professor-Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group: Reality shows that Binh Duong has established a miracle thanks to a development formula that has created good strategies and made successful breakthroughs in many fields. That is to maintain a high growth rate continuously for many years, fundamentally change the economic structure, and leapfrog the level of development. This is the result of the province's persistent pursuit of a smart development strategy, based mainly on a breakthrough approach, turn towards continuous innovation. |
To rise to the new development level
In order to meet the new requirements of the times, Binh Duong continues to proactively make stronger and more specific breakthroughs. With the aspiration to become a smart city, the province has implemented the project "Binh Duong Innovation Region". This is the central content of the Binh Duong City Project for the period 2021-2025.

Thereon, it will upgrade the current production, create new production tools, develop evenly all aspects of social life, and gradually increase the proportion of the digital economy.
It is that vision that has helped Binh Duong province be honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) five times in a row as Smart21, for three years (2021, 2022, 2023), Binh Duong was on the global Top 7 Intelligent communities.
