New district named D war zone suggested
The provincial People's Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung and leaders of departments and agencies and Tan Uyen district party committee jut suggested to separate Tan Uyen district into Tan Uyen town and a new district named D war zone. As planned, Tan Uyen town will have 12 administration units with 6 wards including Uyen Hung, Tan Phuoc Khanh, Thai Hoa, Thanh Phuoc, Khanh Binh and Tan Hiep and 6 communes consisting of Vinh Tan, Phu Chanh, Thanh Hoi, Bach Dang, Hoi Nghia and Tan Vinh Hiep. The town will have a natural area of nearly 20,000ha with population of over 187,000 people.Meanwhile, the new district named D war zone will have 10 administration units including Tan Thanh township and 9 communes of Tan Binh, Binh My, Tan Lap, Tan Dinh, Lac An, Hieu Liem, Dat Cuoc, Thuong Tan and Tan My with the natural area of over 40,000ha and population of over 60,000 residents.At present, the provincial People's Committee has asked Tan Uyen district to collect ideas of senior cadres, veterans, party members and local residents for the new name.Reported by H.Van - Translated by A.C
