Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has left for China to attend the ASEAN - China Expo and the ninth ASEAN – China Business and Investment Summit in Nanning, China from September 20-21.
The visit is made at the invitation of the Chinese Government and the authorities of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The government leader is accompanied by Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, Vietnamese ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho, Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai.
The ASEAN – China Expo and the ninth ASEAN – China Business and Investment Summit are held annually in Nanning by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and 10 ASEAN member countries.
The ASEAN- China Expo- one of China’s leading exhibitions- has become a destination for Chinese and ASEAN businesses and non-bloc partners.
The event is focused on introducing high-tech products and discussing issues related to science, technology, investment and trade to promote the proper use of natural resources.
The ASEAN-China Business and Investment Summit is a high-level important dialogue forum to promote the strategic partnership between ASEAN and China, accelerate the formation of an ASEAN-China free trade area and increase economic and trade ties in the region.
Total trade value through eight ASEAN-China expos has hit more than US$10 billion.
Vietnam always tops other ASEAN member countries in the numbers of businesses and stalls.
At last year’s expo, 120 Vietnamese businesses put up nearly 200 stalls and signed contracts worth US$950 million in total.
This year, Vietnam also leads other ASEAN member countries with more than 200 stands covering 3,500 m2.
Two forums on China-ASEAN vocational training and building a China-ASEAN ecological city will also be held on this occasion.
