According to Do Ngoc Huy, vice-secretary of provincial Youth Union, the implementation of voluntary activities during the 2011 summer youth volunteer campaign will see many improvements.
The local volunteers to the campaign will participate in the local economic development and poverty reduction projects, particularly in rural areas and localities facing difficulties. They will also take part in social activities, including protecting the environment, disseminating laws to people, helping ensure traffic order – and various culture, education and health care-related activities…
With the motto of “Each youth, each Youth Union realizes at least one voluntary activity, contributing to ensuring social welfare”, provincial Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign this year will strive to get 100% of communal, ward and township-level Youth Unions with voluntary youth squads and build at least 10 compassion houses for the poor; provide vocational consultancy and jobs for 1,000 youths; mobilize youths to donate 1,000 units of blood…
Many units are now ready for this year’s summer youth volunteer campaign. Particularly, the Youth Union of Binh Duong University will send 250 students to Dong Thap, Ca Mau and Dac Lac to offer help to the local poor people. Some 50 students from Binh Duong University for Economics and Technology will be also present in Dac Lac while 30 or 50 others of the school will assist people in poor communes in the province.
The Youth Union of Thuan An town now forwards to open 6 charity classes for the offspring of workers at the local lodging facilities. Meanwhile, the Youth Union of provincial Agencies Bloc has set up a delegation of doctors to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for the poor.
