On the afternoon of October 23, Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired the 74th session of provincial People's Committee, in attendance of Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee as well as leaders from departments, sectors and localities in the province.
The session approved a draft report on the economic social and national defense-security situation for the first 10 months of 2024 while considering and gathering opinions on policies for socio-economic development and other draft proposals.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the province’s socio-economic situation continued seeing positive changes, with industrial production, trade, services and exports maintaining growth momentum. The province’s industrial production index, total retail sales revenue of goods and services grew compared to the same period. The province’s State budget revenue was basically ensured, with expectations of meeting the annual target while State budget expenditures were frugal and efficient. The province’s social welfare was ensured. The province’s foreign relations and international cooperation continued being maintained while political security, social order and safety were maintained. Specifically, the province’s 10-month industrial production index increased by 6.49%. Export turnover reached US$ 28.5 billion, an increase of 13.25% while import turnover reached US$ 20.3 billion, an increase of 12.6%. State budget revenue reached VND 61.4 trillion, up 21% or 85% of provincial People's Council’s forecast and 95% of the Prime Minister's forecast. The province also attracted US$ 1.6 billion in FDI and VND 62 trillion in domestic investment capital.
Concluding the session, Mr. Dung agreed in principle with the draft content and requested participating agencies and units to take into account opinions, especially legal basis when drafting proposals for submission to provincial People's Council. He emphasized that the preparation and drafting of proposals must be thoroughly researched to ensure that they meet requirements for approval by the provincial People's Council in the coming time.
