Outstanding war veterans

After over one year of implementing the Politburo’s Directive No.03 on further promoting the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”, Ben Cat district’s War Veterans Association has effectively implemented many emulation movements on “thrift practice”, “veterans helping each other in economic development”…, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Many exemplary role-models have been discovered from emulation movements launched by the district’s War Veterans Association. Phan Chi Dung, a member of the association in Lai Uyen commune’s Ben San hamlet has donated a land of 1.600sq.m to the local government and built a traditional house where is used for exhibiting war veterans’historical items during the two resistance war against French colonists and American imperialists. This has contributed to educating young generations today about the heroic revolutionary tradition of Vietnamese people, especially those in Ben Cat district’s Lai Uyen commune.

In addition, he has got involved in social charity activities. Noticeably, he has provided a monthly allowance of VND200,000 for a lonely elderly person in Ben San hamlet.

Le Thi Thanh is also an outstanding member of Ben Cat district’s War Veterans Association. She is maintaining a needy person with the monthly allowance of VND200,000. Over the past time, she raised VND20mln for building rural traffic roads of Ben San hamlet in Lai Uyen commune.
