Potential and advantages efficiently tapped

The year 2024 is a pivotal year for Dau Tieng district to achieve its economic and social development targets as set out in the Resolution of the district's Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Based on this, since the beginning of the year, the district's leadership has focused on leading, directing, and implementing the economic and social development targets for the year, and has achieved promising results so far.

Production values soar

In the first nine months of 2024, the total production value in the area reached 20,577 billion Vietnamese dong, achieving 68.95% of the annual plan, representing a 14.92% increase compared to the same period in 2023. In which, the value of industrial production and construction in the district reached nearly 11,079 billion VND, achieving 70.62% of the annual plan, an increase of 19.7% compared to the same period in 2023; the value of trade and services production reached nearly 6,217 billion VND, achieving 70.22% of the annual plan, an increase of 12.4% compared to the same period in 2023; the value of agricultural production exceeded 3,282 billion VND, achieving 61.88% of the annual plan, an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

In addition, the district's budget revenue reached 1.068 trillion VND, achieving 80% of the provincial allocation for 2024 and 79% of the district's allocation for 2024. The estimated total budget expenditure is over 660 billion VND. The total mobilized capital from credit institutions is 10.344 trillion VND, with outstanding loans reaching 6.708 trillion VND. Currently, the entire district has 16 products that meet the 3-star OCOP standard, with 8 out of 12 communes and towns having OCOP.

Record shows that the operations of businesses in the district have been relatively stable since the beginning of the year. There are currently 637 active enterprises in the district with a total registered capital of 4.127 billion VND. In addition, the district has broken ground for the investment in infrastructure for the An Lap Industrial Cluster; collaborated with relevant units to report on the explanation, supplement opinions on the appraisal of the Long Tan Industrial Cluster project dossier.

Tangled obstacles removed for growth promotion

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Linh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dau Tieng district, stated that in order to successfully accomplish the set tasks in 2024, the district will focus on resolving difficulties and obstacles for businesses, supporting and promoting investment in the construction of two industrial clusters, An Lap and Long Tan, and incorporating integrated industrial clusters into the province's planning until 2030. Additionally, the district will develop port services along the Saigon River.

Along with that, leveraging the advantages and potential of tourism, the district continues to implement the tourism development plan for the period of 2021-2025; focusing on developing commercial and service sectors, investing in new markets according to the plan, while calling for investment in developing commercial centers, supermarkets, and accommodation services in the district; vigorously implementing the plan for agricultural and rural development for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, replicating urban agriculture models, and high-tech agriculture.

"With its potential and advantages, Dau Tieng district continues to effectively implement the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program; along with that, it also implements sustainable poverty reduction solutions," added Mr. Nguyen Phuong.

The resolution of the 5th Party Congress of Dau Tieng district clearly states that building a new countryside is a key task for the entire term. By implementing this task, Dau Tieng district has achieved positive results, making significant contributions to the local socio-economic development. Notably, as of November 11th, 11 out of 11 communes in the district have met the criteria for advanced new rural areas.
